Light up when someone is there.
Learning Track · Module 4: Energy and carbon · Step 26 of 101
A motion sensor detects people, bicycles, or cars. The light goes up, and nearby lights can follow. When the street is empty, the lights go back to a low level.
- Best for paths, cycle routes, parks, and quiet residential streets.
- Set a minimum level, so the street is never fully dark.
- Set a hold time, so the light does not go up and down for each car.
Note
Ask how the sensor reacts to wind in trees, animals, and heat. False triggers reduce the saving.
