Compare what a circuit used with what it should use.
Learning Track · Module 4: Energy and carbon · Step 23 of 101
40 lights × 50 W = 2.0 kW connected load
2.0 kW × 12 h = 24 kWh per night at full power
2.0 kW × 12 h = 24 kWh per night at full power
Compare measured energy with the expected value every night. A difference of more than about 10% is a reason to look.
- More than expected: day burning, a missed dimming step, or other loads on the circuit.
- Less than expected: dark lights, a tripped circuit, or a lost phase.
Compare energy for each burn hour, not each night, because night length changes.
