Fuse blows or earth leakage trips after rain.
Learning Track · Module 7: Failure library · Step 45 of 101
| Symptom | One or more lights go dark after rain. The earth leakage device trips. The pole fuse is blown or corroded. |
|---|---|
| Cause | Damaged gasket, open cable entry, or a pole door that does not close. Water collects at the base of the pole. |
| Check | Isolate. Open the door. Look for water, rust, green corrosion on terminals, and tracking marks. Test insulation resistance. |
| Fix | Dry the box. Replace corroded terminals and fuse carrier. Seal cable entries. Replace the gasket or door. |
| Prevent | Raise the box above ground level. Use IP-rated junction boxes with drip loops. Check gaskets before the wet season. |
