The failures crews see most often, each with the symptom, the cause, how to check, how to fix, and how to prevent it.
- Water in the junction box: Fuse blows or earth leakage trips after rain.
- Driver failed after a surge: Many lights on one circuit fail after a storm.
- Photocell failed “on”: The light burns all day.
- Contactor stuck or burnt: A circuit will not switch off, or will not switch on.
- Lost neutral: Drivers fail on one phase, lights flicker on others.
- Cable cut by road works: A row of lights goes dark during the day’s work.
- Pole base corrosion: The pole looks fine, but the base is thin.
- Node offline: The light may work, but the data stopped.
- Light flickers or cycles: On and off every few minutes.
- Part of the LED module is dark: Some LEDs are out, the rest work.
- Dirty or yellow cover: The light is on, but the road is too dark.
- Wrong readings after installation: Negative power or impossible power factor.
- Solar light goes off before morning: A little earlier every week.
- Earth leakage device trips again and again: With no clear fault.
- Cable or equipment theft: A section goes dark at night with no fault before.
