Luminaires

  • Performance on your roads: a lighting calculation for each road type, with PDI and AECI.
  • A controller socket on every luminaire: Europe: Zhaga Book 18 with a D4i driver. Middle East: NEMA 7-pin or Zhaga Book 18, as the authority specifies. South Asia: NEMA 7-pin or Zhaga Book 18, even if you buy no nodes now. USA: NEMA 7-pin (ANSI C136.41) with 0–10 V or DALI dimming.
  • Field-replaceable driver and LED module.
  • Lifetime with LM-80 and TM-21 evidence. Test reports from an accredited lab.
  • CCT, uplight, and glare limits for each area.

Controls and software

  • Zhaga-D4i or TALQ certification where relevant.
  • Local storage of schedules when the network is lost.
  • Data interval, platform uptime, and support hours.
  • The owner owns the data. Full export in an open format. Open API.
  • Security requirements and local conformity.

Local rules

Europe: The EU Green Public Procurement criteria for road lighting give ready text for many points. Follow Directive 2014/24/EU for the process.

Middle East: Check local content or in-country value scoring (for example Saudi LCGPA or UAE ICV), and the authority's approved product list.

South Asia: Public buyers in India often buy through GeM and apply the Make in India purchase preference. Ask for BIS CRS registration and NABL lab reports. Many tenders include multi-year O&M with a CCMS.

USA: Federally funded projects must meet Build America, Buy America rules. Ask for DLC listing to qualify for utility rebates.

Note

The tender specification template gives a starting text with regional options.
